Im ersten Kapitel werden die Chronologie der Zeit der assyrischen Handelskolonien, der historische Verlauf in Anatolien, die für diese Epoche repräsentativen Zentren in Anatolien, die Konya-Ebene in dieser Zeit, Konya Karahöyük, die Ausgrabungen in Karahöyük, die Architektur von Karahöyük sowie die Chronologie der assyrischen Handelskolonien in Karahöyük behandelt. Im 2. Kapitel werden die technischen Eigenschaften der Keramik aus Karahöyük behandelt; im 3. Kapitel hingegen die Formmerkmale der Keramik. Die technischen Eigenschaften der Keramik werden anhand der für diese Epoche charakteristischen Zubereitung des Tonmaterials, der Beimischungen, des Brennvorgangs, der Oberflächenbearbeitung und der Verzierungen untersucht und in Unterkapiteln beschrieben. In dem Abschnitt, der sich mit den Formmerkmalen der Keramik befasst, wurden die Gefäße nach ihren Formen gruppiert und innerhalb dieser Gruppierung beschrieben. Die beschriebenen Keramikstücke wurden in diesem Abschnitt zudem mit zeitgenössischen Fundstätten verglichen. Darüber hinaus wurden die Keramikstücke in Kapitel 3 allgemein nach Formen und Schichten bewertet. Kapitel 4 bildet den Schluss und stellt die Ergebnisse vor, die im Rahmen der durchgeführten Arbeiten erzielt wurden.The book titled *Konya Karahöyük: Excavations from 1953 to 1992 and Pottery of the Assyrian Trade Colonies Period*, prepared by Sevgi GÜRDAL, consists of four main sections. 1. The book is based on the author’s doctoral dissertation titled “Pottery of the Assyrian Trade Colonies Period at Konya Karahöyük!” Chapter 1 covers the chronology of the Assyrian Trade Colonies Period, the historical process in Anatolia, the centers representing this period in Anatolia; the Konya Plain during this period, Konya Karahöyük, the excavations conducted at Karahöyük, the architecture of Karahöyük, and the chronology of the Assyrian Trade Colonies Period at Karahöyük. Chapter 2 examines the technical characteristics of Karahöyük pottery; Chapter 3 examines the morphological characteristics of the pottery. The technical characteristics of the pottery are defined under subheadings, examining the preparation of the pottery clay, additives, firing, surface treatments, and decorations that characterize this period. In the section addressing the formal characteristics of the pottery, the vessels are grouped according to their shapes and defined within this classification. The pottery described in this section is also compared with contemporary centers. Additionally, in Chapter 3, the pottery is generally evaluated according to forms and layers. Chapter 4 constitutes the Conclusion chapter and presents the findings obtained as a result of the research conducted.
