Associations, communities or unions are organisations or social networks that bring people together for certain common purposes and attract attention in urban life. Anatolian and Eastern Mediterranean cities have a rich historical background in terms of such associations. This collective volume, to which various scholars have contributed, focuses on associations and unions in ancient Anatolian and eastern Mediterranean cities through the efficient use of epigraphic finds such as funerary stelae, honorary inscriptions, and other ancient sources, and aims to make visible the social and socio-economic networks in urban life.
