Paul’s Anatolian Harbors features the sea journeys of Saint Paul. Born in the port town of Tarsus, he experienced travel by ship from his youth. Each journey mentioned in the book of Acts had a maritime component as Paul sailed from harbor to harbor along the Mediterranean and Aegean coastlines. From Anatolia, he also sailed to and from the Roman provinces of Syria, Judea, Macedonia, Achaia, and finally to Rome itself.
This guidebook introduces various aspects of nautical life in the first century: the ships, the crews, the shipwrecks.
